It’s been four years since the Colorado Buffaloes have been ranked in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Top 25, since Oct. 4, 2021. The Buffs are on a victory roll with a clean sheet record against their conference opponents so far (13-2, 4-0 Big 12). This Monday changed the tide for Colorado, finding itself back at No. 24.

The Buffs have struggled in recent years, experiencing a progressive decline since the 2021 season. At the end of 2022, they finished 20-11 (12-8 Pac 12), and in ‘23 they continued on the decline at 16-15 (8-12 Pac 12). Last season was the hardest pill to swallow at 13-17 (6-12 Big 12).

With continuous Big 12 upsets against BYU, Utah, UCF and Houston, the Buffs have finally found their spot at No. 24 in the AVCA polls. The Buffs will be facing Arizona this Wednesday and No. 15 Arizona State this Friday.

The Buffaloes hope to continue their climb in the AVCA rankings and keep riding their Big 12 upset wave. Their next game will be streamed on ESPN+ at 7 p.m. MT.
