Head coach Deion Sanders still has his recruiting touch.

The Colorado Buffaloes and “Coach Prime” made major moves towards the future, with four-star commit Andre Adams. The 6-foot-2 quarterback from Antioch, Tennessee, is ranked as 247sports’ 15th-best quarterback in the class of 2027.

While just a junior in high school, Adams threw for 3,418 yards and 35 touchdowns to only one interception. He also added 855 yards on the ground with 13 rushing touchdowns in the 2025-26 season.

Adams is a dynamic threat who can make smart decisions while being elusive on his feet. He also possesses fearlessness, unafraid to march through defenders and put his head down for extra yards.

His throwing mechanics are innate, and his film shows the ability to throw off-balance just as accurately as when his feet are planted. This culminated in a nine-touchdown, 372-yard performance in October, which saw Antioch High School rack up 64 points.

With other colleges like Kentucky, Florida State and Virginia Tech in the mix, Adams is another high-profile recruit that Sanders has landed. Though still two years away, Adams is the second recruit from 2027, alongside three-star cornerback Davon Dericho.

Adams’ commitment also hints at a clearer picture of the future of the quarterback position in Boulder, especially surrounding Julian “JuJu” Lewis. Lewis, a redshirt-freshman, is the favorite to start when the Buffs kick off their season in September. Lewis will be entering his redshirt sophomore season when Adams puts on the black and gold, giving him time to learn under the former five-star.

With Adams’ addition, Colorado jumped to No. 58 in 247sports’ 2027 class rankings.
