Colorado receives votes in both major college football polls

In this week’s AP and Coaches’ Polls, the Colorado Buffaloes received top-25 votes — after beating the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 14-13 last Thursday.
The college football world is now paying attention to the Buffs after just one week. They received three votes in the AP Poll and one in the Coaches' Poll.
Colorado surprised in Atlanta with a stunning last-minute drive and game-winning blocked field goal to win their debut. It was all the rage on social media, with several post-game clips of the black and gold and Coach Prime going viral.
The Buffs were last ranked under Sanders in the final AP Poll of the 2024 season. If Colorado can climb from receiving votes and into the top 25, it’ll be the third time in four seasons the Buffaloes have been ranked.
Colorado is one of three Big 12 teams in the receiving-votes category, along with Arizona and Arizona State. Four of the conference’s teams (Texas Tech, Utah, BYU and Houston) are in this week’s Top 25. The Buffaloes are slated to play three of those four ranked teams later this fall.
Colorado plays Weber State on Saturday, but their next real test is expected to come in two weeks against Northwestern in Evanston.
