How Colorado's new receivers fit in 'Go-Go' offense

After a rough offensive 2025 campaign, Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders prioritized bringing in new receiving weapons via the transfer portal.
Alongside a new offensive coordinator in Brennan Marion, the revamped offense brings excitement for the 2026 season.
Here’s how each wide receiver transfer fits in with the “Go-Go” offense.
DeAndre Moore Jr.
DeAndre Moore Jr. was the sixth-highest-rated wide receiver in the portal according to 247Sports, and his arrival is a coup for Colorado. He is projected to be a go-to target for Marion’s offense in the slot position, where he caught for 532 receiving yards and four touchdowns for the Texas Longhorns last season.
In 2024, Moore had 456 receiving yards and seven touchdowns in Texas’ College Football Playoff run to the semifinal game. He showcased big-play ability with a 41-yard touchdown grab in the SEC Championship game against the Georgia Bulldogs, part of a nine-reception, 114-yard effort.
Cooper Petagna, a national recruiting analyst for 247Sports and CBS Sports, describes Moore as “a crafty route-runner with short-area quickness and ability to consistently separate. The former Longhorn poses threats for defenders in man coverage while showing the spatial awareness to uncover soft spots against zone.”
Moore missed some time participating in spring ball for the Buffaloes due to a lower body injury, but is trending toward a full return for fall camp.
Ernest Campbell
Ernest Campbell follows Marion from the Sacramento State Hornets to Boulder. In 2025, Campbell led Sacramento State in receiving yards with 37 receptions for 755 yards.
Nicknamed “Flash” by his teammates, Campbell’s speed is his greatest tool in creating separation. He impressed as a track star for the Texas A&M Aggies, where he initially committed and ran a 10.02-second 100-meter dash. His speed also helped Colorado track and field this past spring, turning heads after running a 6.76 time in the 60 meters, the ninth fastest time in program history.
Campbell has a smaller frame of 5-foot-9 and 145 pounds, but he makes up for it with explosive play ability. He set the Sacramento State single-season record with six receptions of at least 50 yards in 2025. Campbell is poised to remain a valuable weapon in Marion’s “Go-Go offense,” and provides provisional Colorado starting quarterback Julian Lewis with a downfield threat this fall.
Danny Scudero
Danny Scudero was a highly sought-after transfer talent in the portal in the offseason. The 5-foot-9 junior recorded an FBS-best 1,297 receiving yards while being the only player to average more than 100 yards per game.
This production resulted in him being a Biletnikoff Award semifinalist and being named to the All-Mountain West first team.
His presence will be much needed on the Buffs, a team that finished in the bottom third in passing yards per game last year. But more importantly, that experience and leadership will be what his teammates look to.
“I feel like I can definitely be a guy that a lot of teammates can count on,” Scudero said during Big 12 media days.
Scudero has explosive upside, as he averaged nearly 15 yards per reception last year. This was shown during Colorado’s black and gold spring game, where he brought in a 25-yard touchdown pass from Lewis in the back of the end zone.
His 88 receptions and three games with double-digit catches during the 2025 season also make him a reliable target who has a tendency to burn and dance past defenders with his speed.
His talents should translate to a Power Four conference as well. He hauled in seven receptions for 60 yards against Texas last season as well.
With the “Go-Go” offense of Marion, Scudero is ready to fit in with his speed and big-play ability.
“Coach Marion is a great, great coach,” Scudero said at Big 12 Football Media Days. “He runs a great offense, and the ‘Go-Go,’ it's been fun to learn.”
Kam Perry
Kam Perry was one of the first transfers to CU this offseason. He had a productive season for the Miami University Redhawks in 2025. In 14 games last season, Perry put up 976 yards and six touchdowns on 43 catches in the MAC.
That production would’ve led Colorado in receiving yards and would’ve been the team’s second-highest touchdown tally, behind Omarion Miller.
With Miller transferring to the Arizona State Sun Devils, Marion and Sanders will lean on Perry’s big-play ability.
ESPN’s Bill Connelly called him “Mr. Big Play Perry” due to his ability to fool defenders and create space for himself after the catch.
Outside of one game against the Eastern Michigan Eagles, Perry had a 25+-yard catch in each of his contests and had four games with 100 or more receiving yards.
Perry’s skill set also features elite speed, which helped him get open more often than not. It helped him average over 22 yards per catch last season. Combined with Lewis’s arm strength, the redshirt senior should find success on go and corner routes.
“[Perry, Scudero and Moore], they have the mentality that they can go out there and get it,” Sanders said at Big 12 Football Media Days. “They want the smoke. They want to see you play man-to-man in front of them.”
There’s reason for Buff fans to be optimistic about the receiving core this year with a plethora of weapons and a new offensive coordinator to fit it all.
“I love every bit of what we've assembled,” Sanders said.
