What’s in the bag? Not enough for Jordan Seaton.

If the NCAA transfer portal losses weren’t big enough, the Colorado Buffaloes will say goodbye to their premier left tackle with only four days left in the window. Seaton made the announcement he'd be leaving via a post on his Instagram account Monday evening.

“As I reflect on my time at Colorado, it’s hard to put into words what this chapter truly has meant to me,” Seaton said in a caption. “I never imagined this journey would come to a close in this way, but I am deeply grateful for every moment that led me here.”

The former five-star recruit from IMG Academy made headlines in December 2023 when he first committed to Deion Sanders on Fox Sports’ Skip and Shannon: Undisputed. Since his early arrival in Boulder, Seaton had an immediate impact to the team and enforced presence on the field.

In 2024, he put together an impressive freshman campaign, earning All-Big 12 Honorable Mentions blocking for Shedeur Sanders. After winning nine games and making a bowl appearance, it seemed Seaton would become a cornerstone player for Colorado. During the offseason, he was vocal in recruiting and took on the role of team leader.

Seaton’s 2025 campaign was limited to nine games after he suffered a leg injury against Utah. Although the Buffs finished with three wins, he played well enough to earn a spot on the All-Big 12 Second Team.

Seaton will finish his career in the Black and Gold, having started 22 games in two seasons and having four different starting quarterbacks. After Seaton didn’t initially enter the portal when it opened on Jan. 2, it seemed he would be staying with Colorado.

However, after his departure, Seaton leaves big shoes to fill, with the Buffs having limited time and players to find a replacement. He is the 37th Buff to leave this offseason.

“This chapter may be closing, but the impact of this experience and the people who've helped shape it will stay with me for life,” Seaton said.
