The Colorado Buffaloes (8-3-1, 2-2 Big 12)  finished their two-game road stint with a 2-0 loss against the University of Central Florida Black Knights. The loss puts Colorado 0-2 on their road trip as they return home for their next match.

From the start, the Buffaloes did not look like themselves. They looked extremely disconnected on both ends of the pitch.

From the beginning of the match, it felt like Colorado was playing on the back foot. They could not gain any momentum on either side of the pitch.

In the 14th minute, the Buffs were put in a hole when UCF managed to put one past goalkeeper Brooke Goerish.

The rest of the half saw Colorado struggle to break past UCF’s backline.

"Very, very disappointed in the start of the match,” CU head coach Danny Sanchez said. “UCF's so good on the ball in the possession, and we just made it really easy for them, and they got a well-deserved goal."

Trailing by one, Colorado went into halftime looking to make changes and put one on the board.

Unfortunately for the Buffs, their second-half adjustments did not work,   and they kept struggling on the offensive side of the ball.  In the 51st minute, another UCF ball got past Goerish to put them up 2-0. The Buffaloes had several good opportunities late in the second half but were unable to capitalize.

All three leading goal scorers for Colorado, Hope Leyba, Reagan Kotschau and Michaela McGowan, were held to a combined one shot on goal.

Colorado had not gone a game without scoring a goal since they drew against Western Michigan all back in late August.

Colorado looks to get back in the win column when they return home to take on the Baylor Bears. The Buffs currently remain undefeated at home and have not lost at Prenup Field since Oct. 2024. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. MT(ESPN+).
