The Colorado Buffaloes women's soccer team moved up to No. 16 in the weekly United Soccer Coaches’ poll, making it the program's highest national ranking since 2018.

Head coach Danny Sanchez and the Buffs were previously ranked in the last poll at number 21. The Buffs are on an eight-game winning streak now, which is the longest active winning streak in the NCAA.

The Buffs were recently on a road trip that started in Manhattan, Kansas as the Colorado Buffaloes took on the Kansas State Wildcats. This was the first Big 12 match for the Buffs since the 2010 season. The Buffs’ starting goalkeeper Jordan Nytes recorded five saves, while forward Jace Holley scored the lone goal in the game giving the Buffs a 1-0 victory.

Colorado’s road trip didn’t get any easier as they were faced with the No. 12 team in the nation, the Oklahoma State Cowgirls. Due to lightning, the game was delayed and started an hour and ten minutes later than the original kickoff time. Nytes faced her former team where she set the Colorado record for the longest consecutive shutout streak at 583 minutes and 33 seconds, though the streak was broken after giving up only her fifth goal of the year. Goals by Holley and Hope Leyba helped hand the Cowgirls their first loss of the season, 2-1.

Next, the Colorado Buffaloes headed to Ames, Iowa to face the Iowa State Cyclones. As midfielder Emerson Layne scored a late goal for her first goal of the season, she helped the Buffs win this game 1-0 as the team continued their winning streak to eight games.

Colorado finished the road trip with three Big 12 away wins. The Buffs sit at a 9-1 record this season with a 3-0 record in Big 12 conference games.

The Colorado Buffaloes will play at Prentup Field in a Big 12 matchup against the Baylor Bears (6-4-1, Big 12 1-2) on Thursday at 7 p.m. MT (ESPN+). The Buffs will look to continue their winning streak and keep an undefeated record in Big 12 conference play.
