From Estonia to the Northeast to the Rocky Mountains, transfers have continued to find ways to Boulder.
After a disappointing NCAA Tournament exit last month, head coach JR Payne has made her fifth portal addition to the Colorado Buffaloes, signing 6-foot-5 graduate transfer center Anete Adler from Boston University on Saturday.
Adler is a well-rounded forward who can fit into numerous roles for the Buffs, averaging 15.4 points, six rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.8 blocks per game last season, earning herself a spot on the All-Patriot League Second Team and All-Defensive Team.
Adler played in Boulder her sophomore year when the Terriers played CU in 2023, in which she hit on all three of her shots for seven points. She started her college career with the Rhode Island Rams, where she was part of recently departed Buffs forward Anaëlle Dutat's recruiting class.
The Keila, Estonia native was the centerpiece of the Boston University team that went 11-20. She took a massive step forward last year, recording eight games with 20 or more points.
Her skillset includes a strong post presence that defenders have to respect, allowing her to kick out to an open shooter when she inevitably draws a double-team.Â
With her 6-foot-5 frame, Adler can also bring down boards when necessary, including a 16-rebound performance in late January.Â
She was able to combine those aspects on her senior night, going for 33 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists and five blocks against American.
Adler is the fifth name that the Buffs have added to their 2026 transfer class. Other names include freshman forward Kira Reynolds from UT Arlington, guard Brooke Walker from Utah, guard Aniya’ Foy from Kansas State and freshman Mecailin Marshall from Tulane.Â
With key returners of forward Logyn Greer, along with guards Zyanna Walker, Kennedy Sanders, and Claire O’Connor, the addition of Adler rounds out a strong rotation for coach Payne and Colorado.
The addition of the graduate forward is likely the last to the Buffs squad, with their roster now sitting at 13.
