Consistency is key after matchup with Oklahoma State

Teams are only in control of what they do.
The Colorado Buffaloes seemingly aren’t in control of their discipline.
“We just need to be disciplined, not shooting ourselves in the foot,” linebacker Gideon ESPN Lampron said during the team’s weekly press conference.
Colorado is the most penalized team in the Big 12 and has the fourth-most penalty yards per game in the nation. Averaging over 80 penalty yards per game, the Buffs have faced self-inflicted setbacks.
Colorado had 84 penalty yards against Oklahoma State while having three turnovers. Their defense let up nearly 600 yards of offense to the Cowboys.
“Big takeaway is we just needed to respond in moments of adversity,” Lampron said.
Colorado has had plenty of adversity this season, now riding a five-game losing streak after a blowout loss to the Cowboys last week. It’s a loss it's trying to move past.
“We got to flush it and move on to the next week and, you know, get back on track,” Lampron said.
After starting the season 2-0, the Buffs still need consistency.
“Defensively, offensively, running the ball, throwing the ball, creating turnovers, eliminating the penalties, we got to have some kind of consistency,” head coach Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders said.
The group is still confident they can win out if they can find a more consistent model of play.
“Just staying with the process and treating every day the same,” Lampron said. “That's going to motivate all of us because we have to do that in order to win.”
As one of the nation’s least disciplined teams, the Buffs understand that consistently responding to adversity will be a winning model.
“Adversity is going to happen in a football game,” tight end Brady Koptez said. “You just got to figure out how to respond to that better.”
Colorado has a chance to right the ship when it hosts the Kansas State Wildcats, who have forced four turnovers all season.
Kickoff is set for noon MT (TNT).
