Coach JR Payne and the Colorado Buffaloes landed a blue chip prospect last Friday in Logyn Greer of the freshman class of 2025. The four-star commit is ranked no. 80 of her class in the nation (ESPNW 100).
At 6-foot-3, Greer hails from Wynnewood, Pennsylvania, on the western outskirts of the Philadelphia metro. She is the highest ranked prospect of the 2025 class to commit to the Buffaloes for both the men’s and women’s squads.
ESPN has lofty praise for the four-star recruit, citing her as a reliable midrange shooter that has the potential to be lethal at the elbow. 247Sports also noted her paint presence and finishing ability.
Greer’s performance backs up her praise, as the recruit already has mid-range and 3-point shooting, as well as defensive prowess and blocking in her high school arsenal. At the next level, she could be an incredibly versatile forward with a high motor that gives opposing teams fits on both sides of the ball.
The forward selected Colorado over closer programs at Clemson and West Virginia, so what influenced her decision? The Buffs’ playstyle.
“It’s like a motion, Princeton offense, I feel like I fit very well with that,” Greer told On3 Sports following her verbal commitment. “I’ll be at that elbow or wing area - I feel very comfortable at those sports.”
In that same interview, the prospect praised Colorado as a reliable program that can take her to the professional level, on par with other class of ‘25 recruit Erianna Gooden’s decision to play for the black and gold.
Greer attended Friends’ Central School, the same academy that produced Hakim Warrick, a star forward who played a critical role in the Syracuse Orange’s 2003 National Championship run.
Logyn’s brother, EJay Greer, is currently a sophomore guard for the Bowling Green State Falcons. There, he played a part in the Falcons’ tournament run in the MAC last season, which ended in the semifinals. After testing the transfer portal in March, he returned to the program shortly after.
Now totaling three commits, coach Payne and the Buffaloes look to land more recruits for the 2025 class with preseason action in their new conference, the Big 12, just weeks away.
