Women’s Basketball unveils 2026-27 schedule
The Colorado Buffaloes released their highly anticipated 2026-2027 schedule on Thursday. The lineup features tough Big 12 stretches and a challenging slew of non-conference teams.
With a roster evenly split between new and returning players, the Buffs will look to establish chemistry on the road and comfort at home.
“Our nonconference slate will test us against a variety of styles and prepare us for the nightly demands of Big 12 play,” head coach JR Payne said.
Payne is entering her 11th year with the Buffs, with a 186-128 (.592) mark to show for it.
CU starts with an exhibition game against Adams State on Oct. 27. The regular season will begin with two home games at the CU Events Center: Morgan State on Nov. 4 and Fresno State on Nov. 7.
The Cancun Challenge in late November will host neutral-site games for CU against Georgia, Oregon and Maryland Eastern Shore.
A local matchup at the University of Denver on Dec. 3 will welcome the Buffs back from their international business trip.
Big 12 action won’t tip off until Dec. 20, with the Buffs traveling to take on Texas Tech in Lubbock. The last game of the 2026 calendar year will be a conference matchup against Arizona State on Dec. 30.
The New Year will start off hot, with three games in eight days for the Buffs, including a road trip to take on a revamped Oklahoma State team, with the addition of transfer Audi Crooks.
CU will play 16 straight conference games before finishing Big 12 regular season play on Feb. 28, 2027.
Payne will look to build on last year’s 22-12 (11-7 Big 12) record with help from veteran returners and new energy for the Buffs.
CU will return several big names, including senior Zyanna Walker, junior Kennedy Sanders, and sophomores Jade Crook and Logyn Greer. Along with several freshmen transfers, transfer Aniya’ Foy from Kansas State and Kira Reynolds from UT-Arlington will add to CU’s depth.
