With multiple recruits set to break their commitments on Wednesday, the Colorado men's basketball side of X has whirred more than usual.
Ian Inman, a class of 2025 swingman, was the first of a few anticipated announcements on Wednesday, picking Colorado over in-state rival Colorado State. He visited both campuses over the last eight days, touring Boulder on Sept. 11 and Fort Collins on Sept. 14 before deciding to forego his official visits with other programs. 247Sports' Brandon Jenkins broke his commitment date and his decision.
"It was really the fact that Coach (Tad) Boyle cleared a lot of stuff up," Inman told Jenkins. "They have a great developmental program and they just have the right guys going into the Big 12 like myself. I feel like we could have the underdog mentality in the Big 12 and shock a lot of people."
Inman noted the entire coaching staff and their development plan as reasons for his commitment, which has aligned with past commit's reasoning to choose head coach Tad Boyle and the Buffs.
Set to play his senior season at The Woodlands College Park in Texas, Inman is currently ranked a three-star by 247Sports. Listed at 6-foot-5, 180 pounds Inman appears to have a sweet shooting stroke and the playstyle more of a guard than a small forward.
Inman's commitment is the second for Boyle's 2025 freshman class after three-star point guard Isaiah Johnson committed to the Buffs in early August. Yet, Inman shouldn't be the last with four-star Kayden "Bugg" Edwards announcing his commitment on Wednesday at 3:45 p.m. MT on On3's YouTube channel.
(UPDATE - 9/18/24, 4:23 p.m. MT: Edwards committed to TCU over Colorado)
