Deion Sanders announces Buffs roster cuts

Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders announced that he made some roster cuts following his team’s 41-7 loss to Northwestern last week.
“A few guys are not on the team anymore,” Sanders announced at his weekly press conference.
Sanders wanted to shake up the locker room culture after the loss and ensured that he put his foot down.
“Those guys could tell you I'm the most loving and giving and forgiving man you could ever meet,” Sanders said. “When you start [having] conduct detrimental to the team that will set us back … I have a problem with that.”
He also highlighted that some of that conduct carried over from last year, not just last week’s loss. That conduct was a pattern that damaged the team.
“A year ago, I didn't put my foot down in it enough, and it lingered a little bit,” Sanders said.
After going 3-9 last season, Sanders ensured that a message was sent. He recounted that his team also wanted to be on the same page and contribute to a positive locker room culture.
“They came up to me yesterday, and they said, ‘We want to get ahead of anything. Tell us who may be on that list next,’” Sanders said.
“‘Let's get ahead of it. We want to go and get on them and make sure they're doing the right thing,” Sanders continued. “And make sure they're where they're supposed to be and make sure they're not going out of bounds.’"
This decision comes solely from the head coach, made in the best interest of his team.
“I ain't got to consult with nobody to do what I know is right,” Sanders said.
Still, the decision impacts the team within the locker room.
“It's hard to see somebody go, especially somebody that you've spent the last six, seven months with, and see them every day,” linebacker Tyler Martinez said. “[But,] if it's going to help us win, we have to do it.”
